Latest Transfer News – Fee Agreed for Liverpool’s Fernando Torres with Chelsea
At DT News we understand that one of the biggest transfers in football (soccer) history has got the green light today, as a fee has been agreed between Chelsea and Liverpool for Fernando Torres.
Torres has been given permission by Liverpool to speak to Chelsea about personal terms, reports are that salary & image rights will mean approx. £9.1 million ($14.1 million) year for the striker.
It is worth mentioning that Liverpool play Chelsea at the weekend, what a début that would be, out of the cauldron into the fire for Torres!
It looks like Liverpool will replace Torres with Andy Carroll of Newcastle for an enormous fee of approx. £35 million ($54.2 million). I say enormous because the Newcastle striker has not long been on the footballing map, and if you remember Torres himself went to Liverpool at the top of his reputation for about £21 million ($32.5 million).
It looks like this is a sellers market as the transfer window comes to a close, thoughts of recession and the credit crunch seem a million miles away in the footballing world.
