Arnie Bows out – He Won’t Be Back
Arnold Schwarzenegger is preparing to stand down today as his term as the Governor of California comes to and end.
The Governator, as he was dubbed by commentators, has had a rough ride recently with the Californian state facing a deficit in their budget of about $25 billion, and in 2010 it came close to bankruptcy effectively having to write IOU’s.
After 7 years at as the Governor of California, Arnold now has other ideas that he is passionate about and wants to chase, he leaves California in the hands of Democrat Jerry Brown.
With the downturn in the American economy hitting California particularly hard and Arnold not able to balance the books in the way that he had promised when he was re-elected, his approval ratings have fallen to about 22% as he leaves office.
He did impress people with his sudden transformation from gas guzzling hummer driver to eco-friendly politician however, and many people see this as an area that he will take on in the near future.
Some whispers suggest that he many even get a ‘green’ role in President Obama’s administration. Asked about his return to movies he quipped
“I don’t know if I will have the patience to sit on set for three to six months.”
