Jennifer Lopez Calls Time on Marriage with Marc Anthony

Jennifer Lopez has called time on her marriage to Marc Anthony after 7 years together.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have 3 year old twins and their marriage has been one of the most high profile showbiz marriages with both having high profile careers.

For Jennifer Lopez it is probably easier to talk about what businesses she isn’t involved in, but she has interests in perfume, fashion, TV production, music, films, restaurant and as a music judge. It is said she is worth anywhere from $150-250 million, depending on who you believe.

J-Lo had been married twice before, to backing dancer Chris Judd in 2001 and a short marriage to a waiter called Ojani Noa in 1998.

She briefly dated Marc Anthony before her second marriage but got together properly in 2004 after recording a duet for the film ‘Shall We Dance’.

Jennifer Lopez got married that year in Beverly Hills, catching even their guests by surprise after they had been invited for an afternoon party.

Marc Anthony was previously marred to ex-Miss Universe, Dayanara Torres, with whom he has 2 children.

Following the announcement of their split the couple issued a statement that they had decided to end their marriage and that they had come to an amicable conclusion on all matters.

We are sure that neither of them will be alone for long, the question is, will Jennifer Lopez ever get married again?

With 3 failed marriages behind her it would take a brave person to try again but of course it is difficult to ignore romance and everlasting love. We say go for it, we might know someone ;)

David Beckham & Victoria Beckham Expecting a 4th Child

David and Victoria Beckham have announced that they are expecting a forth child sometime in the summer of 2011.

The couple already have 3 boys; Brooklyn (11), Romeo (8) and Cruz (5) who are said to be very excited at the news.

The couple have been married since 1999 and are currently located in Los Angeles, California where David Beckham plays for the soccer team LA Galaxy and Victoria Beckham is a fashion designer.

It was also announced that David Beckham will go home to London, England, to train with Tottenham Hotspur during the US Soccer Leagues close season. He hopes to keep fitness levels high and will try to impress the England national team boss Fabio Capello with his commitment.

It had been hoped that he would be able to play in Tottenham’s 1st team, in the English Premier League; but after an injury he picked up while playing for AC Milan last season the insurance costs are said to be too high for Tottenham to bear.

The Actor Spielberg said was the “Best Actor in the World”, Pete Postlethwaite Passes Away

The state and big screen actor Pete Postlethwaite died at the age of 64 in hospital on Monday after a lengthy illness.

Many people, including such heavyweights as Steven Spielberg, have previously described Postlethwaite as the best actor in the world.

Spielberg worked with Postlethwaite in films such as Jurassic Park and tributes to the veteran actor have been flooding in from the tv, stage and film industries.

Julie Walters said “He invented edgy”,

“I saw him in Coriolanus and it was the most terrifying, wonderful performance I have ever seen. The audience were privileged to see it.”

Postlethwaite was nominated for an Oscar in 1994 for the film “In the Name of the Father” about the IRA’s bombings in Guildford, UK.

His co-star in the film, Daniel Day-Lewis paid him this tribute,

“It was him we went to see on stage time and time again.”

Postlethwaite was born in Cheshire, England and started his career in the Liverpool theatres working with other future stars such as Julie Walters and Bill Nighy. He went on to star in numerous plays, films and TV programs.

Singer Gerry Rafferty Dies after Illness

The singer songwriter Gerry Rafferty has passed away after an long term illness aged 65.

Gerry Rafferty is most famous for his song “Baker Street” which was written in 1978 and still gets heavy airplay to this day.

Born near Glasgow in Scotland to an Irish father and a Scottish mother, his musical apprenticeship included a stint with the comedian Billy Connelly’s band of the time ‘the humblebums’.

Rafferty eventually went solo and made his first solo album ‘Can I have my money back?’. His solo album garnered interest from folk fans and he did some sessions at the BBC with John Peel establishing himself as a credible songwriter.

He then decided to rejoin an old school friend, Joe Egan, from the first band he was in, ‘The Mavericks’.

Together they formed ‘Steelers Wheel’ and made a debut album which included the now infamous tune, ‘Stuck in the middle with you’. I say infamous because it was included in the memorable scene from Tarantino’s ‘Reservoir Dogs’.

Later he made more solo albums, ‘Baker street’ was included on the album ‘City to City’ which went on to sell 5 million copies making Rafferty a millionaire.

Rafferty was always a heavy drinker and it culminated in a 5 day binge at a London hotel. Staff there eventually sent him to hospital but a lifetime of drinking had obviously taken it’s toll.

Zara Phillips in Royal Wedding Part II Starring Mike Tindell

Zara Phillips, the Queen’s granddaughter, is too follow in the footsteps of Prince William and marry her long term partner Mike Tindell.

Zara Phillips is the 12th in line to the throne and an accomplished show jumper, picking up the Gold medal at the World Equestrian Games in 2006 and was the BBC’s sports personality of the year.

Mike Tindell is also an accomplished sportsman having played international rugby for England and was part of their World Cup winning side in 2003 where the couple first met.

The Queen said that she “was delighted” and Zara herself said that she was “shocked” when Mike proposed but that she was “very happy”.

No date has been set for the marriage but it comes hot on the heals of the announcement of Prince Williams engagement to Kate Middleton.

To mark their engagement Prince William and Kate Middleton commissioned Mario Testino to make 2 portrait photographs.

They were taken by Testino on 25th November 2010 in the State Apartments of St. James’s Palace in London.

Mario is quoted on the official site of the Prince of Wales as saying

“I am very happy to have been asked to cover this historic moment that the whole world was waiting for.”

“They are in their prime and brimming with happiness. I have never felt so much joy as when I see them together.”

Surgery For Singer Peter Andre

The Australian singer Peter Andre has had to have emergency surgery after he started suffering severe stomach pain.

He was admitted to Hospital on Friday and a statement on his website said the following

A statement on his website said: ‘Peter had to have an emergency operation yesterday (Friday) afternoon which was a success. Pete was released from hospital earlier today (Saturday) and is recovering. Peter would like to thank everyone for their support and their messages.’

His brother Mike, who works with Peter said,

“We’ve had a difficult night and unfortunately can’t comment on what’s wrong with him but Pete’s a fighter.”

Peter Andre had to postpone a gig in Plymouth and in Minehead over the weekend but is said to be revovering well after a successful operation.

Prince William & Kate Middleton’s Royal Wedding Date 29th April

After much speculation, Clarence House has announced the date for the Royal Wedding of Kate Middleton to Prince William.

On Friday 29th April 2011, the Prince and the Princess to be will be wed at Westminster Abbey after a 7 month engagement. Prince William proposed to Kate (or Catherine) Middleton whilst on holiday in Kenya to a friends Game Reserve.

Westminster Abbey is a familiar place for Royal events and has a link to the Royal Family going back around 1000 years. It hosted for instance, the Queen Mothers wedding as well as the Queens wedding; most recently it was the venue for Princess Diana’s funeral.

The Prime Minister David Cameron said that the day would be declared a public holiday in England so that everyone will be able to enjoy and celebrate the occasion.

The cost of the security for the Royal Wedding will come from the public purse while the wedding itself will be paid for by the Royal Family and the Middleton family, although quite what the ratio will be I will leave you to guess.
