Happy Fathers Day to all of the dads out there, especially those who cannot be with their families today.
Fathers day in most countries around the world lands on the 3rd Sunday of June and the event is thought to date back to the early 1900′s, when a mining community in America lost over 200 miners in an accident.
It was decided to mark the loss of all these fathers on the 3rd Sunday of June.
However, it wasn’t officially marked as an event until 1966 when the then US President, Lyndon B Johnson, issued a presidential proclamation marking the day.
To celebrate this year Google have done a special Google Doodle showing that traditional fathers day present (which perhaps in this day and age, not many have use for), the neck tie.
