At the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, Lamborghini presented it’s most uncompromising super car in it’s history.

The Lamborghini Aventador J offers the driver a full on experience of power and dynamics. At the same time, the 700 hp two-seater is a first class technology showcase, combining innovative solutions and brand new materials.

The Lamborghini Aventador J is a radically open auto with the exterior melding with the interior. The designers and engineers in Sant’Agata Bolognese have not only dispensed entirely with the roof, but also with the front windshield.

This requires that driver must have the right equipment for driving at  speeds higher than 300 Km/h. This kind of driving at the limit is a highly exclusive experience – the Lamborghini Aventador J is fully functional for road use…. if you have deep pockets or even get hold of one.

Bolstered by the success of a model that brought the entire concept of the Grand Tourer up to date, the new GranTurismo Sport gets a restyling and a host of new technical features.

The new GranTurismo Sport in the Maserati MY13 product range replaces the GranTurismo S. In the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand it will be marketed beginning with the MY 2013 range.

The powerful 4.7-litre V8 engine can now deliver a maximum power of 460 HP without penalising fuel consumption and emissions. These parameters enable the GranTurismo Sport to reach an impressive top speed of 300 km/h, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds.

Rolls Royce Unveils the Ultimate Electric Car, the Phantom 102EX

Rolls Royce today unveiled what could be the ultimate in eco-friendly motoring with it’s prototype electric Phantom, the 102EX.

The car will debut at the Geneva motor show in March and will then go on tour as a test bed for Rolls Royce to sound out customers. Rolls Royce owners will be able to test drive the new technology and provide feedback.

CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös said about the project

“With this vehicle, we begin an exploration into alternative drive-trains, seeking clarity on which alternative technologies may be suitable to drive Rolls-Royce motor cars of the future.”

“I must be convinced that any alternative drive-train we choose for the future delivers an authentic Rolls-Royce experience. It must be a technology that is right for our customers, our brand and which sets us on a sound footing for a sustainable future.”

Judging by the buzz building I would say that the car will have a huge amount of support and it will only be a matter of time before this model, or something very similar makes it into production.

The current Phantom model has a V12 engine kicking out 377g/km of C02 and will only do about 18 mpg.

The electric version would appear to be the perfect antidote to the extremes of the petrol engine, it would also give the whisper quiet performance that Rolls Royce cars are famous for.

Electric appears to be the solution for now (electric cars were sold commercially in the 70′s in the US, then controversially taken off the market a few years later), whereas Hydrogen seems to be the solution for tomorrow, requiring enormous and very expensive infrastructure changes.
